Our story
Where We Started
We are Marc and Chanelle, brother and sister duo and co-owners of Bright Light Signs Ltd.
Our father, Richard, owned and operated a sign company in Eastern Canada for over 35 years before moving west to Alberta to start a new life. He introduced Marc to the sign industry and after a few years Chanelle left her career in sales and joined her father and brother in what is now Bright Light Signs Ltd. It has been nearly ten years since its creation and our little family-owned business has grown steadily ever since.
Knowing that many of the sign companies existing in the Edmonton area were already well established for many years, we knew we had to approach the industry in a different way. Instead of trying to compete directly, we decided to approach these already existing and successful companies to act as independent sign installers. Many companies hired Bright Light Signs Ltd. for their installations and other projects as needed.
Throughout the years we have developed strong working relationships with many of the sign companies in the Edmonton area. They come to us with their installation needs, and we provide them with fabrication projects. As we continued to grow, companies across Canada and the United States would hire Bright Light Signs Ltd. for their installation projects across Western Canada. We are proud of the relationships we have built and the strong network we have created that has allowed us to perfect our art of installation.
In 2020, our father and company’s founder passed away in a parachuting accident near his home in Sturgeon County, Alberta. The company was left to Marc and Chanelle who continue to honour their father, his company, and his vision by continuing to nourish existing relationships and developing new connections to continue to bring Bright Light Signs Ltd. to new levels.
